Chanel Island Surf Trip

What better way to celebrate my brothers upcoming wedding, then hopping on a boat and heading over to the Chanel islands. 

The swell was supposed to be 3-4' but we weren't sure what exactly to expect. I think we visited a new spot/ island each day.  

Micah was the only one who caught a fish!! 

It was such a good adventure! 

 

The sky was super clear, and it was during the full moon. This is a shot i took from the boat. It was so bright, it was causing a reflection in the lens.

This was my favorite shot of the trip. The conditions were fair and I for sure had a blast!! I can't wait to go back! 

Shaun Tomson @ The Shed

Shaun Tomson came by The Shed earlier this month.  He was signing copies of his book The Surfers Code, and spent a few hours talking to his fans and sharing his life stories & experiences.  

I have been a fan since I was a kid, and it was so cool to meet him.  

Shaun stayed until everyone who had wanted a signed copy of the book or past issues of a magazine had left. 

Hopefully the next time we meet, I'll be in South Africa... Hint hint!! Haha

Before it got too late Bird got him to sign this board!! 

1st Mammoth trip of the season...

When the Summer months bring flat to small waves, I hit the trails.  Mammoth is one place I like to go as many times as possible.  An opportunity presented itself for me to get in a day or two up there...so I took it!

 Here is a shot of Aaron, Greg, Jeff and myself.

 It's really hard to get the perspective of how high up you really are...

 On the way up to one of the trails you go right over a Glacier run-off lake.  The color of the water is amazing.  It's pretty awesome to see up close...

Summer fun!!!

Earlier this month PBSC held their surf contest.  I didnt compete in my age group, but was there supporting everyone.  I was asked to take part in the Dog/Cat heat.  These pictures tell more then words...but the video is even better!!! 

Mike Myers and I were on the same team...not sure where he went for this shot.

 

Apparently, I was a little rough of Nico in the heat. 

Haha...Still pulled out the win!

What an adventure!!

WindanSea took the overall team win for the 3rd year in a row!  Congrats to all the finalists and contestents.

The clean waves held up for most of the weekend and the weather was warm and sunny.  The church was nice enough to let the clubs camp on their property again...lets hope for an invite back next year.  If not, Brighton State Beach...here we come! :)

Tavarua tease.....

I couldnt post pics from Australia without including some from Tavarua.

This amazing shot of the moonrise I took on the second week...the weather cleared up a bit, YEA!

Now that things have settled down a bit, I can get some pictures up of my trip to Australia this Spring.  Wait...who am I kidding!?! I have a contest this weekend, things have not slowed down a bit!

I saw this Koala and had to get a photo of it for Erin...she'd have killed me if I didnt.
