One Trestles day
I love going up to Trestles for contests. Although I cannot control the outcome of the judges, I can always count on my free-surf bringing me to my happy place!

G&S... It's been a long ride
This past weekend, G&S took over the Shed for Larry Gordon & Floyd Smith to release their book Gordon & Smith, its been a long ride. Its a compilation of photos, ads, team riders, surfboards, skateboards and all the adventures in between from the beginning to present.
The VIP event was catered by Taco Surf, and as always... the food was EPIC!
We watched never before seen footage of team riders. Think Joe Roper back in the day at Big Rock!
Caught up with people we had not seen in years.
Enjoyed the company of legends, friends and family. By the end of the night, my cheeks hurt from all the smiles and laughter.

I have so many personal memories of working with Larry and Gayle as a team rider. Later, Debbie took on that role. I've felt so much a part of the Gordon family throughout my surfing career.
Although Parkinson's is taking its toll on Larry, you can still see the passion for the sport and the people he is connected to through surfing.
Thank you to all who came out to support this event.

Seasons change...
Now that Summer is over and Fall has begun...its time to change gears (no pun intended)
Who's ready for desert season?! Two thumbs point to this guy!!
Surf Contest season has wrapped up, and a huge congrats goes to the WindanSea Surf Club for taking the #1 spot yet again with the CA. Coalition of Surf Clubs. It was an adventurous 2014, to say the least.
Now to focus on my Pre-Runner truck!! If only I could get my wife to stop using my welder, so I can use it!! haha, there are worse problems to have.

Gotta get the fun in- whenever possible!
Recently, I had the pleasure of going to Big Bear, CA to celebrate my friends wedding. Late summer is a great time to visit the area, and I had big plans for being on the mountain all day. However, when you get friends + wives + babies + dogs + wedding stuff = no time for fun!!
I wasnt going to let the trip go by without some sort of riding. So, I did what anyone in their right mind would do... I jumped off the wall in the front yard!

Even on a bad day... its not a bad day!
Some inspiration for my upcoming adventure...
While in Fiji a Tropical Storm developed. It ended up sending home over half the island. Those of us that were left, had an empty line up... and barrels for days!!

1st place!!!!!
At the Swamiis contest held at Cardiff this past weekend, I pulled the 1st place win. I had my doubts about the judging criteria, but I approached it with an open mind.
I had some talented guys in my heats but I was able to get 1st place in both heats leading up to the final.
The heats were 15min in length, with a max of 6 waves. The conditions were decent and I was stoked I brought the right board.
Then, as if I wasn't already stoked. WindanSea took the team win for the event!! Everyone who participated for the club helped with points... Which we needed after that paddle race (believe me, you don't want to know)
